Webster University Selects SLS International's Loudspeaker Products |
October 16, 2003 07:52:00 AM ET Company Continues Rapid Penetration of Educational Market SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SLS International (OTC Bulletin Board: SITI) announced today that Webster University in St. Louis recently installed a multi channel live performance sound system featuring SLS's Line Array speakers for a renovation project of the sound system at Browning Theater, a live performance theater at the University's St. Louis campus that is used by the college as well as The Reparatory Theatre of St. Louis and The Opera Theatre of St. Louis. Audio Active recently completed the project using SLS International's systems to critical acclaim.
Bryan Erdman, designer and coordinator for Audio Active, selected the SLS products because of their unique coverage characteristics as well as their natural reproduction of sound. Eight LS8695 line array columns, four per side, were chosen as the left and right stereo portion of the system and they were placed on top of each other on either side of the proscenium opening. This resulted in a 14 foot tall line array that produced absolute equal volume from the front row to the back row. SLS' 112RT two-way speakers were selected for the center cluster and were flown over the center of the proscenium to bring center stage imaging to the performers as they move around the set. Clusters of the SLS 8190T's were used for the effects channels in the four corners of the room and six SLS 215EL sub woofers were used for the low frequencies.
"I was totally amazed when the system was first turned on," said Mr. Erdman, who also works with the St. Louis Symphony, the St' Louis Jazz Festival and the Sheldon Concert Hall. "I have never installed or used a system that was so pleasing to listen to. When the client first heard the system they were more excited than any I have ever worked with. Even before we had tuned the system to the room they put wireless lavaliere microphones on two actors and they walked directly in front of the speakers. To everyone's surprise, there was no feedback from the microphones. The SLS speakers will make all of the performances much better. I will be recommending the SLS' for all of my future installations."
"We are receiving growing recognition for the quality of our speakers every day from contractors and installers." said John Gott, President and CEO of SLS International. "Our new ribbon driver technology has enabled us to create speaker systems that are unparalleled. We have been told throughout the industry that our speakers compare favorably with the more expensive leading brands. It is gratifying to receive such recognition for our efforts as we gear up for a major launch in January." |
