SLS International Begins Facility Expansion |
Company Leases Additional Space to Fulfill Rapid Growth in Orders SLS International announced today that it had begun a major facility expansion to increase production capabilities to fill the increase in orders.
SLS has leased an additional 15,000 square feet of adjoining space and the architectural and engineering drawings have been completed and will be given to contractors immediately. Final assembly areas will be more than doubled and conveyor lines will be set up to expedite order completion and deliveries. The Ribbon Driver assembly area will also be increased to more than four times its current area to allow for current and future needs for the company's proprietary components. The engineering department will also move into a new 5,000 square foot area to facilitate testing and design of the current and new products as they are developed.
"We have begun this expansion as a result of the strong demand for our state-of-the-art speaker systems," said John Gott, President and CEO of SLS International. "This new expansion is long overdue. We have been working in 15,000 Sq. Ft. and have been cramped for quite some time which has made it difficult to keep up with the demand for our speakers. This new space, combined with more efficient manufacturing methods will allow us to keep up with the rapid increase in orders. We will also have a much needed showroom, conference and office areas that will allow us to demonstrate our products to visiting dealers and distributors that want to do business with us and more efficiently manage and run our business. We have had a big increase in export distributors asking to visit our factory so they can plan for their future needs. This new facility is scheduled to be completed and fully operational by Jan. 1, 2004. We will begin the transition in stages so as to minimize the disruptions to production." |
